The 2022 edition of The European Fine Art Fair, or TEFAF — the world’s most famous art and antiques fair, where museum curators as well as blue-chip collectors stalk the seeming miles of aisles at the MECC Maastricht convention center has started again today.

For the duration of this event (24 June to 30 June), Michelin Star restaurant Beluga will house an NFT Gallery in collaboration with Authic to showcase works from more than a dozen world-renowned NFT artists. Authic is a premium curated NFT platform based in Amsterdam with a focus on high quality art. Trevor Jones, Jonas Leriche, Warbb and Maalavai are just some of the artists that will have their works exclusively displayed by Authic at the famous Beluga restaurant. Furthermore, Michel Molders’ “Sunshine Royale Motel” NFT artwork will be presented after having spent 2 years to create it. Another significant artpiece that will be showcased is “Decadence”, by NoCreative. The 3D designer describes the emotional state of wondering into a deserted place. Come have a closer look at the NFT gallery, which is open to the public for free and where art collectors who are interested in the works can purchase the NFT’s with just a simple click of a button at the Authic platform.

NFT’s might not immediately evoke feelings of fine art to many people. However, Authic believes that NFT’s will play a crucial role in the future of art and that digital artworks will allow an ever-larger group of artists to reach out to their fanbase around the world. This pop-up gallery organized by Authic during TEFAF might be the first of its kind in the Netherlands but will certainly not be one of the last ones.
